Tournaments
The JGA holds monthly tournaments throughout the year using different formats that are competitive, fun, and open to players of all handicap levels.
Our tournament schedule each year runs from Spring to Fall using different formats each month. We have individual stroke play and team events that are competitive and fun for our membership. Some tournaments throughout the year are also open for members to invite guests to play.
A big event for us that we enjoy each year is our Veterans Tournament. This gives the JGA an opportunity to thank all of our members who are veterans and to thank all veterans who have served our country. To all of our Vietnam Veterans, welcome home!

Thank you all for playing and supporting the tradition of our club championships and making the JGA a great association to be a part of. We had a great Senior and Super Senior Championship this week. Dan Iddings had a hole in one on #17 today taking home the JGA Hole in on prize of $250. Great shot Dan!
We have a new Super Senior Champion this year. David Millis. He produced the most consistent golf for two days out of both divisions claiming his first JGA title.
Rick Briley and Frank Landing found themselves tied after 36 holes taking it back out on the course for a playoff to decide the Senior Champion. The playoff lasted three holes and on the third playoff hole Rick Briley chipped in for birdie to defeat Frank Landing and win his second Senior Club Championship title.

First of all we want to thank everyone for playing and supporting the JGA. We play tournaments to recognize and reward players who excel in a 2 day competition. We work hard to put together tournaments that we believe represent the interests of our members. There is nothing better than shared experiences through fellowship on the course and after.
Thanks to Marcy and Alberta for keeping the members going in the right direction. Thanks to Cindy for keeping everyone hydrated and filled up with food.
These last 2 days meant a lot to those who competed. Let's talk about a few moments and shots that were worth mentioning the last couple days.
- Ed Galaski eagle on 2 and 7
- David Hardison eagle on 2. Ridiculous birdie on #1 from # 2 fairway.
- Frank Landing 18 pars 1st day. Mr. Vanilla...
Congrats to Grandpa, Gary Jennings for his new grandkid! Family is so much more important than golf.
Congratulations to the new Senior Champion, David Hardison 71-69-140 total. He is a pleasure to play golf with and an incredible talent. He made tough putts for 2 days and played solid golf. I personally loved his "way" left shot on # 1 that landed in #2 fairway. He hit over the trees and made the putt for a birdie. That is how you win and represent us as Senior Club Champion. Congratulations as we know you will represent us well as the new Champion.
Let us remind you that Rick Briley represented himself well as usual. This was not his year, but he handles himself in a way we all need to learn from. He will be back another day and year to whip us all on the course as he often does. Playing with Rick is always a pleasure.
John Parker is the Super Senior Champion. Congratulations on winning 2 years in a row. 74-77-151 total. You have a good game and need to join us during weekday gang play. You are always welcome and we look forward to seeing you.
The Club Championship is this weekend. If you get the chance please come out and support our tournament and players. Today we really appreciate Eddie Southern and Jim Pridgen stopping by as we were finishing up play.
Take care and we look forward to seeing all of you out soon. Every week we have a tournament on Wednesday and Friday. Come get some!

We thank everyone for playing yesterday and appreciate your support. We hope each of you were pleased with the tournament and had a good time. It takes a lot of people to set up and run a tournament. The Board would like to thank everyone who helped us.
Uncle Maddio's Pizza on Wendover Ave. near the Palladium provided some really good pizza. The Manager, Tony Wright is a super guy and was very fair on his pricing. We look forward to eating their pizza again in the future.
The attached summary lists all of the winning teams, team skins and the team 50/50 winner. Ties were broken starting with the #1 hole handicap.

Thanks for the hard work of Tournament Director, John Maynard as well as Joe Simmons. We appreciate the help from Senior Director, Terry McElfresh of Greensboro National as well as their former Director of Golf, Justin Malone.
There are a lot of moving parts that have to come together to make these outings work. Thanks to the staff of Greensboro National and Jamestown Park for looking after us while playing this challenge.
This year it was Greensboro Nationals turn to hold up the trophy. They made quite the comeback on the 2nd day and overtook our lead. Congratulations on winning and we plan on taking the trophy back next year.
Thanks to everyone who played this year. We appreciate and welcome your suggestions on how to make this experience the best for everyone. I don't think it will ever be perfect, but we need to learn from our experiences.
